Southend United face the Valiants this Saturday in League one. Port Vale recently had their manager Martin Foyle leave by mutual consent and stand in Dean Glover will be the man in charge this weekend.

Vital Quotes:

Quoted on the offical Vale Website Dean Glover said ‘ It is an unbelievably sad day after how long Martin has been at the club’…….’ Martin will no doubt be wishing us well for Saturday because that is the type of person he is’

Port Vale Team News:

Shane Tudor and Marc Richards could both feature after playing for the reserves mid week.Keith Lowe also played in the game Monday night and will be wanting to make a claim for 1st team football.

Player to watch: Luke Rodgers

I remember Luke in his Shrewsbury days and he always causd problems to opposing defences.I noticed he also scored last week against Luton and Southend will need to keep a close eye on the quick, short forward.

Southend United Team News:

Southend United have no injury concerns and welcome back both Leon Clarke (cup-tied midweek) and Mark Gower who has shaken off a back injury.

Player to watch: Leon Clarke

The on loan Sheffield Wednesday player has certainly made an impact since his arrival. He scored a wonder goal on his debut and also managed two goal assists. He has a great footballing brain and he will prove a handfull on Saturday.

Match Prediction:

Southend are on a role in the league at the moment while Port Vale have been struggling of late. Losing your manager isn’t a great way to go in to an important game, although sometimes this can work for you and the players will be well up for it I am sure.
I am going for a 2-1 win to Southend with Leon Clarke and Adam Barrett getting the goals.

Be warned as I got the score exactly right in our last game against Blackpool and I also said that Charlton would be beaten by Luton in the cup on the same night
