Kevan Hurst has been the latest player to praise the support that’s being offer to Southend from the supporter’s, following Barry Corr’s praising of this after the Chesterfield win on Saturday.

Hurst has given an interview on the official website that’s highlighted the New Year’s Day comeback win, and how this helped develop a new belief that this season could be a special season for us and knows what a role the supporter’s play.

Millwall were beaten in the last round of the FA Cup but Hurst, who missed that game, knows that Premier League Hull City will be a different proposition but an upset is the aim and this can be made all the more possible with the positive support at Roots Hall.

‘It is a step up from Millwall and we are well aware of that, but we’re full of confidence at the moment.

‘Of course we know that Hull are expected to the win the game, but there’s nothing stopping us causing an upset if we play as we have been playing.

‘The fans will play a big part in that and hopefully it’ll be another memorable day at Roots Hall.’

It’s the players that take to the field and have to produce the good but you can never underestimate the part that positive, and fanatical support, can play in a game. With such a great spirit and atmosphere about the club at the moment this could be another factor that helps us to another great day on Saturday.
