My thougts are that it will be another Blue shirted player….in the form of Birmingham City Striker Gary McSheffrey.

Almost automatically people are looking for Freddy Eastwood to return, and of course what a wonderful proposition that would be!

However on this occasion I can’t see him returning as he is playing most games for Coventry, whilst not bagging too many goals. Since he left the Blues he hasn’t been anywhere near as prolific, who can remember that debut hat trick!

My thoughts are that it could be well the former Coventry City Striker Gary McSheffrey, who has recently returned to the Birmingham squad after being out injured.

In fact Sky Sports news have covered a story in which Alex McLeish talks of giving the Striker a short term move to boost his match fitness, it is thought this is preferred rather than play in the reserves.

‘There has been no progress on him going out at the moment,’ confirmed the Blues boss.’

‘I have spoken to Gary and we are looking to do something to suit us both and get him some games.’

‘At the moment it’s difficult to get him in the team here.’

‘Sinclair has been doing well, we’ve also got Larsson to consider, plus Bouazza has come in.’

‘So it might be right for Gary to go and get and get some match practice under his belt, do well and hopefully come back to us for the run in.’, Alex McLeish – Birmingham City Official Site

It would certainly help to ease the injury / suspension issues at present and could well work out great for both parties if it were to come off.It might be worth noting that Gary can also play on the Left Wing!
