Mark Phillips and Barry Corr have both given interviews following the draw against Wycombe Wanderers last weekend, and here’s what they had to say.

Speaking firstly to the Official Site defender Phillips concurred with the thoughts of the gaffer Phil Brown when it came to the way our luck was going in games at the moment, but insisted the only way out of this was by continuing to work hard on the training pitch to get us over the hump so to speak.

Agreeing that we more than deserved the victory before a very unfortunate own goal by Daniel Bentley came into play, he explained.

‘Everyone gave it 110% out there, and they say when you do that, you might get a bit of luck that goes your way. That saying obviously didn’t apply with their goal, but we’ve just got to keep putting in the same sort of work rate. If we do that, our luck will eventually turn and we can start to look forward again at pushing on.’

Having performed well alongside new loan signing John Egan, Phillips admits it was very disappointing to have not kept a clean sheet but there was nothing that could be done against such a freak goal really.

If we were going to have a wobble, at least we have done it with enough games left to make up for these hiccups if that can be considered a positive.

As for the goal scorer on the day, Corr says that everyone within the camp will remain positive and continue to believe in themselves, because although they are hurting with recent results as much as anyone as our play off hopes start to slip away, he knows we are more than capable of playing catch up as long as we start getting the results we want and deserve.

‘We’re the same team as ten games ago when we were enjoying an excellent run of one defeat in 15. We’ve not just become a bad team. We’re still working as hard as ever to turn this around, and I’m confident we will do that.’

Corr says that if people have doubted the team, they are determined to prove them wrong over the coming matches and he has every confidence that we can and will do just that.

Onto the next game and three points would be a massive boost for everyone again.

It’s almost a must that we win our next game isn’t it.

With Fleetwood stuttering we haven’t had a better chance recently have we, but we seem to be following them. Very much a six pointer.
