Kiernan Doesn’t Rule Out Returning

Southend lost the services of Kiernan on Saturday when Wigan recalled the defender early from his loan period with the club. We we’re meant to get another couple of weeks from the defender, who’s been so important to our season, but we were denied this chance due to an injury pile up at Wigan.

Without Kiernan we managed a one-one draw against Accrington Stanley, but during his time with us we lost only three of fifteen that he featured in. I’m not sure if he made his Wigan debut on Sunday but I do know his former Brentford manager Rosler named him on the subs bench.

Kiernan has shared some views in an Echo interview following his departure and isn’t ruling out a return to the club in the future. He said that he’s already tipped Brown the nod that if he’s not going to be playing regularly with Wigan following his return that he’d like to see another loan thrashed out as he wants to be playing as much football as he can and enjoyed his spell with Southend.

Come what may he’ll remember his time with us fondly and hopes that promotion can be secured come the seasons end.
