White: Learn From The Experience

Devastation is still something that John White is feeling, with the Southend captain not alone in feeling this.

He’s said in his interview of the official website that he knows, when all is said and done, that making it past Burton and into the play off final was ‘a step too far’ with him also admitting that the half time break came at the wrong time for us.

We’d fallen a goal behind but Ryan Leonard and Anthony Straker goals turned the game around with the atmosphere electric at Roots Hall, had that half gone on for another five or ten minutes I’m sure we would’ve scored again.

Burton felt what we are feeling now last season and they’ve turned it around to make it to Wembley, White’s called upon our squad to learn from it and follow suit.

‘We’ve got to grow up quickly as we’re a young squad. We’ve got to learn from this experience, and I do believe it will make us stronger, as a group and individually.

‘Next season we will come back looking to get automatic promotion and make sure we’re not feeling like this again. It’s about taking these moments of hurt and turning them around.’

Automatic promotion would be very nice, but if we have to take the play off route as long as we learn from this I’m sure we can go all the way but much will depend on who stays and who goes this summer?
