This weekends game at home to Swansea City is nearing a sell out. The top of the table clash has generated massive attention leaving just 200 tickets for Southend fans to grab! You can get tickets by ringing 08444 770077, online at the official site or in person at the club shop.

Southend have been drawn at home against either Lincoln City or MK Dons in the second round of the FA Cup.

Tilson seems to fancy the FA Cup tie and sees it as a good chance to get into the 3rd round. ‘It’s not a bad draw, especially as we are at home. I’m not fussed about who we get but it’s a good chance to get to the third round and hopefully one of the big boys.’

Tilson says – following the FA Cup 1st round victory – that ‘winning is a habit’ but warns that the league is ‘the be-all and end-all’ adding: ‘It’s very unlikely that we will win the cup but it would be nice for the chairman if we can make it through to the third round.’

Freddy Eastwood is being lined up for a call up to the England U21’s. Former Shrimpers boss Peter Taylor said:
‘Freddy is a good player and he’s scored a lot of goals. He’s done well since he’s been at Southend and I have seen him play a few times. Will he play for the Under-21s? We’ll have to wait and see.’

Eastwood has said, despite the speculation linking him to Championship sides, that he is happy at Southend. ‘My friends tell me which sides the papers are linking me with but to be honest, I don’t take any notice of it. I’m happy at Southend and I just want to do my best for the club.’

Thought for the day: It’s frustrating when you know all the answers, but nobody bothers to ask you the questions.
