FA Cup fever has griped the people of Southend as the FA Cup fourth round meeting with Hull City this weekend at Roots Hall has been confirmed as a sell out.

Phil Brown recently said that his aim, when he came to Southend, was to get Roots Hall to sell out and he’s managed this by guiding us into the fourth round of the cup. I know it takes the luck of the draw, and being paired with his former side Hull helped, but with an upset sensed against the Premier League side more than 9,000 home fans will be in attendance.

This is brilliant not only for our chances, as the supporter’s will play a big part in this game, but for our finances too as the more that could be attracted through the turnstiles the more money that Southend would bring in.

A ‘waiting list’ is being compiled, but the chances are if you’re name isn’t on the original list you’re not getting in. The club confirmed that if you want to be added to that list you had to email tickets@southend-united.co.uk.
