Yet again Southend slumped to yet another defeat but this time against local Essex rivals Colchester United.

With Southend losing midfielder Mark Gower & captain Kevin Maher to disputable red cards the shrimpers never looked like getting back into the match.

Colchester took the lead on the 68th minute with Colchester hot property Greg Halford striking from 20+ yards that strike was then followed later with goals from Pat Baldwin (74) and Jamie Cureton (85)

There was one more piece of action and that was Colchesters Chris Barker seeing red after a second yellow card.

Fair enough mate I understand that I wont get into the debate whether or not Maher should have gone, I wish you the best with the Vital site and well done for taking it on, stick with it it will pay dividends in time. Good luck in the football (Except Easter)
