Eastwood left out in the cold

It all started so well for Freddy Eastwood on his arrival to Wolves. Goals were flying in for him during the friendlies, he continued to score when the season finally started and was even called up for the Welsh squad scoring a spectacular goal on his debut.

So what has happened now to the ex Southend Legend?

Mick McCarthy is due to leave Eastwood out again tomorrow for the match against Coventry and keep playing the striking pair of Andy Keogh and Stephen Elliot.

Eastwood got a huge reception when he came on against Leicester in the 67th minute. It has been heavily reported since though that Mick McCarthy criticised his performance.

Reading between the lines it sounds like Freddy may not have been putting 100% effort into training and also a night club incident wouldn’t have helped. McCarthy is boss so he works with the players day in day out so makes his decisions on what others don’t see. It certainly still comes though as a huge surprise not including a player that normally scores for fun and we at Southend know all about what Eastwood can do and that includes scoring in the Championship!

I heard that he had parked his caravan in the executive car park….seriously, probably a bit out of his depth and he needs to knuckle down and work very hard at getting back into th eteam.
