Brown On Tough Mansfield Game

Manager Phil Brown has said that we won’t be taking our trip to the One Call Stadium lightly when we face Mansfield, despite the fact they have failed to win on home soil since last September.

For Brown three points over the course of 90 minutes will be decided by the way we prepare for the game, and complacency cannot form a part of that.

Speaking to the Official Site the gaffer explained.

‘It’s a tough place to go, it’s quite hostile with a tight pitch and we will need to be at our best. The performance will be key again on Saturday. If we get that right then I’m sure we can get a positive result.’

Brown goes on to say that we’ll be getting the train up later today ahead of the game, so we will be getting in another session on the training pitch and there’s not much more we can do in terms of preparation and he thinks it has gone well so far, but as long as we don’t take anything for granted, and we continue to give our all, we will be well placed to add to our points tally.

As for changes for the game, Brown was giving nothing away but obviously he admits in the training game against West Ham he was impressed by Conor Clifford, Marc Laird and Bedsente Gomis, we also have Barry Corr back fit available for the game – or he should be – and there is a late decision to be taken on Luke Prosser following his operation yesterday.
