David Worrall knows what it’s like to play at Wembley in a play-off final, and a League 2 play-off final at that as he did this previously with Shrewsbury but that didn’t end in success on that occasion as his side were beaten by Gillingham.

The winger’s told the Official Website that a return to Wembley is, as we’ll all be hoping for, something that he wants but is well aware that it’ll take an effort for us to make it as Stevenage will be a eager to make it as we are.

On that occasion, when Shrewsbury made it to the final when he was on loan, he suffered defeat but would obviously not want that same outcome.

‘I played in a play-off semi-final with Shrewsbury Town against Gillingham. We ended up getting to Wembley but unfortunately got beat in the last minute, losing 1-0.

‘My granddad went to the last one I played in at Wembley and he’ll be wanting to go again, so hopefully I get to play there. We have a tough game first against Stevenage though.’

Worrall says that losing out to Morecambe is still a disappointment that left us flat but that blow of missing out on automatic promotion has been replaced by a new buzz around the club.

Tonight’s game, that he can’t wait to be involved in, is one that he feels will be a good one.

‘We stuck to our game plan for the first leg and we have them back at our place now. Hopefully we can get the job done. There’s a big buzz around the place after being disappointed not to get in the automatics at Morecambe.

‘I can’t wait. It should be a good game and I’m really looking forward to it.’

The time for talking is almost at an end, we’ll want history to repeat itself with him going back to Wembley for another play-off final but that’s as far as goes with him this time part of a winning final side this time!
