Three-match ban for Corr

Barry Corr went from the ecstasy of scoring (after so long out with injury) to the agony of being sent off in a week, meaning he’ll now serve a three-match ban.

The striker ended 17-months of injury hell by coming off the bench to level against former club Exeter recently but just a week later, against another West County side, around the same time he’d scored the week before he was shown a straight red card by Steven Rushton at Plymouth.

An off the ball incident with Darren Purse saw him sent off, and an appeal had been contemplated but Paul Sturrock has decided to accept this decision as he didn’t feel that the DVD footage would leave The Shrimpers “a chance” of that decision “being overturned.”

Corr will now miss games against Burton, Barnet and Dagenham.
