The Preview: York City v Southend

Southend’s priority on Saturday against York City at Bootham Crescent is to exploit what isn’t right in as much as a failure to turn to many draws into wins this season. They don’t lose too many though and have barely lost in their last twenty something games at the start of this season and the end of the last.

Phil Brown knows we had the trouble last season what York are having now.

York’s only defeat this season came against top of the table Burton Albion with another draw on Tuesday the story of their season, goalkeeper Michael Ingham has an injury problem but is expected to play.

The win over Cheltenham Town on Tuesday was bitter sweet, Ryan Leonard’s injury opened the door to Conor Clifford and he scored a goal that Leonard would’ve been proud of to give us a one-nil win. Clifford should replace him again with Cian Bolger and Barry Corr back.

If we can break down the York defence, more than once, I’ll be confident that we’ll win and another win could take us into the automatic promotion places in League 2 but a point at Bootham Crescent would be a very good point.
