Southend suffered a shock setback against Accrington Stanley last Saturday but we’ll look to our impressive away for to correct this at Stevenage this Saturday. The game at the Lamex Stadium isn’t a formality at all though and Stevenage go into this with a good three-one win against Hartlepool.

After scoring twice teenager Ben Kennedy is likely to keep his place but injury leaves Jon Ashton as a doubt again with Jerome Okimo, David McAllister, Adam Marriott, Harry Worley and Connor Calcutt all injured and missing, Darius Charles isn’t going to play again this season.

If Daniel Bentley came through his return to training on Friday then he could return after injury but if he’s not ready Ted Smith will be a more than able deputy in goal again if needed. Lee Barnard misses the chance to face his former side, where he also had a spell this season on loan, due to injury.

With our impressive away record I’d expect us to get something, to respond to our two-one defeat against Accrington Stanley but it’s not a formality that we’ll win but we could do with a win.
