Saturday will see a top of the table clash as Southend take on one of our main rivals for promotion from League 2 Shrewsbury at Greenhous Meadow.

Surgery to Andy Mangan will keep him out for the foreseeable future so new transfer deadline day signing from Peterborough Tyrone Barnett is poised for his debut with experienced midfielder Keith Southern back from a suspension but injury has ended James Wesolowski’s season.

Barry Corr’s back for this one as another of many players that we’ve recently had sent off returns from a suspension to come back into Phil Brown’s thoughts. Mads Ibenfeldt is the signing that we’ve made this season struck down by a long term injury so he’s still unavailable but Adam Barrett and Cian Bolger may come into the squad after missing our York win with Shaquile Coulthirst’s winner in that game enough to earn him a starting place perhaps?

We’ve continued to collect the wins away from Roots Hall and broke that nil-nil barrier last Saturday with a one-nil win that we barely deserved, I’ll settle for a point from this one but wouldn’t say no to all three.
