The latest winding up petition against Southend has gone away with an outstanding tax bill paid off.

For a sixth time in four-years Southend faced the prospect of being wound up! However the one-month arrears for PAYE and national insurance contributions, which had caused the problem, have been paid and the scheduled High Court meeting later this month dismissed.

Continued losses are a problem for the club, with an overspend in the 2010/11 season doing little to help. Hopefully the proposed move to Fossetts Farm will help ease the financial strain and prevent future problems!
