Southend v Rotherham

Southend are now 13 games unbeaten with a well fought battle over Rotherham on Friday. The Shrimpers are now top of Division One, and with Colchester losing on Saturday, have got a two point gap at the top of the table.

Both goals came in the first half from Freddy Eastwood and Shaun Goater. Mark Gower’s shot bounced back off the post with Shaun Goater being able to slot the ball home from close range. Goater then became provider of the second goal, when he setup Eastwood who managed to blast the ball into the far corner from a tight angle.
