Defender Luke Prosser has said he can’t wait to get going again this season now having had last season interrupted by injury.

Prosser was in fine form for us until injury hit, and then the form of John Egan and Jakub Sokolik took over in our backline, but now he’s fit, raring to go and with a good pre season under him he’s told the Official Site that he can’t wait now to make up for some lost time.

‘Obviously it was disappointing for me last season because I really enjoyed my football before I picked up the injury. I couldn’t complain about not getting back in the side because John and Jakub came in and did really well, but I’ve been pleased with how things have gone and I’m feeling in great shape ahead of the new season.’

Prosser goes on to say that he feels his form has been good across our pre season games so far and he’s looking forward to that continuing to improve from this weekend onwards.

Adding that he knows if he gets the nod for the Accrington game, then it’s up to him to make sure he’s undroppable again.

Of course, competition at the back is strong this time with the arrival of Mads Ibenfeldt and Cian Bolger newly arriving, and he feels that all four will have to be on their toes which can only bring a benefit to the whole club.
