The Shrimpers defender Juncan Jupp reaches his one hundreth appearance when they travel to Tranmere tomorrow.

The former Wimbledon player helped the Shrimpers gain promotion from Division Two last season in the final of the playoffs, and he has never looked back since.

‘It’s nice being involved again’, Jupp told the Southend United Official Website, ‘Being out of the side for such a long time was frustrating but you have to wait your turn sometimes’.

Jupp replaced the injured Lewis Hunt last month, but with Hunt getting through the reserves 2-1 win against Cambridge United on Wednesday at Boots & Laces, he has got to sit out on the bench, whilst Jupp carries on in good form.

Also joining Hunt in the reserves game was James Lawson, Jay Smith and Shaun Goater as they get back to match fitness. Spencer Prior who came off in the match against Brentford last weekend suffering from an ankle injury, was also back in training this week.

Meanwhile, Mitchell Cole also travels to Tranmere tomorrow suffering from a slight ankle injury that kept him out of last weekends match, with the only doubt for tomorrow being the Shrimpers number two keeper Bart Griemink’s knee injury.
