The Football League have now announced the Match Day officials that will take charge of the game against Gillingham this weekend.

Southend United host Gillingham on Saturday March 19 for the game at Roots Hall and the match carries a 3pm kick off.

Referee: Dean Whitestone
Linesmen: Michael George and Christopher Wade
Fourth Official: Nicholas Cooper

Match Day referee Whitestone has officiated two Southend games this season.

He has however already taken in 33 other matches so far in 2015-16 and in those games, across all competitions and football divisions, he has handed out a total of 107 yellow cards and three red cards.

He was most card happy in the match between Bristol Rovers and Mansfield in March, with eight yellows being shown. Prior to that Colchester and Scunthorpe in August saw seven yellows being shown and he also showed seven in the game between Middlesbrough and Blackburn in February.

Let`s hope it`s not another repeat and more of our players edge closer to automatic bans.
