Ahead of the game against Fleetwood Town on Saturday, Southend United confirmed that Jamar Loza had returned to his parent club Norwich City following the expiry of his loan spell with us at Roots Hall.

The 19 year old had an immediate impact at the club and very impressive during his time with us, scoring once and assisting once in the game against Oxford United that brought our winless run to an end.

Overall he figured in seven games for the club, and manager Phil Brown told the Official Site that he genuinely believed the striker would go on to big things having seen what he can do first hand now.

‘Jamar made a big impact during his time with us, but he has returned to Norwich who feel he can play a part for their first team between now and the end of the season. We would have loved to have kept him here until the end of the season but I’d like to wish him the very best for the future, and thank him for his efforts during his time with the club.’

His seven games with us returned one goal, and four starts.

Having been recalled by Norwich, he did not feature in their four nil loss to Manchester United yesterday, but with games remaining you’d fancy him to get a shot off the bench at some stage.
