Former Southend defender Sean Clohessy has returned to Essex to sign for our rivals Colchester United after leaving Scottish Premier League side Kilmarnock.

Clohessy was one that Phil Brown had wanted to keep at Roots Hall last summer after his impressive 2012/2013 season but the right back decided that he wanted to move onto something difference and play at a higher level.

If Scottish Football is actually a higher level than League 2 could be debated mind.

The 27 year old himself feels that Scottish Football does deserve more credit than it gets though and says he enjoyed his year north of the border and will benefit from it but some family issues meant that a return home was needed and he ‘jumped at the chance’ to sign for our rivals, shame on him!
