Shaq Coulthirst is scheduled to spend the whole of the season on loan with Southend with Phil Brown confident that he’ll stay with us until the end of the season and not return to Spurs.

Reports have suggested that his lack of first-team involvement, on a regular basis, could see him recalled by Spurs with Stevenage showing an interest in him but Brown’s told the Echo that he’s expecting him to stay as per the agreement.

He said: ‘Shaq is with us until the end of the season and won’t be leaving until then. He’s developing nicely and we also have a good relationship with his coach at Tottenham, Paul Brush.’

Brown also says that he’s not heard of ‘any interest’ but even though he’s been on ‘the periphery of things’ recently he would be surprised if he didn’t stay – he certainly isn’t going to be returning to his parent club until the season ends….
