Corr – Typical Timlin

Barry Corr quite literally had a ringside seat when Michael Timlin and Bira Dembele clashed heads in the play-off semi final first leg at Broadhall Way on Sunday, in the one-one draw.

Corr, in quotes carried by Sky Sports, was next to the two when they clashed heads with him saying that he hadn’t seen an incident so bad previously.

He also said that he would have pulled out of the challenge personally!

‘I was right beside it.

‘I said to Tims ‘I’d have pulled out of that’. When you see his head it’s properly cut open.’

Timlin wanted to carry on despite the huge cut he had above his eye and the amount of blood that was pouring out with him making it clear to the doctor that he didn’t want to come off, which was also something that was clear as you watched on.

Corr, as said who was right beside the incident, said that it ‘hurt to watch’ but the fact that Timlin wanted to carry on it typical of the man.

‘Typical Tims – he’s so brave – he was saying to the doctor that he wanted to play on, I don’t think he realised how bad it was. I was saying ‘Tims, you need to go to hospital’.

‘That’s his character, he’s whole-hearted, he went in honestly to get the ball. But it was an awful collision, definitely the worst I’ve seen. It hurt me to watch it.’

The clash left Timlin in hospital and 15 stitches were required, which leaves him as a major doubt for the second leg this week.
