No new injuries for Colchester means that boss Phil Parkinson will have a great selection of players to choose from. The only two players out are Stephen Hunt and Marino Keith, both with injuries. Hunt is due back in training next week.

Layer Road has even got a cover on it to stop the frost from mounting up overnight.

Player to watch: Chris Iwelumo

Already scoring 14 goals this season, the Shrimpers will have to watch him carefully.

Southend United Team News:

As reported earlier, Southend will definately be without Spencer Prior and Mitchell Cole, both still recovering from injuries sustained from last Saturdays match against Walsall. Also out is Wayne Gray and keeper Bart Griemink.

Mark Bentley is also unlikely to start as he has been struggling with an ankle injury.

Looking at the good news, Southend welcome back Freddy Eastwood who has served his one match ban after getting his fifth yellow card against Chesterfield a couple of weeks ago and Kevin Maher is likely to start following his nose operation on Monday.

Player to watch: Freddy Eastwood

Freddy will be keen to get on the score sheet quickly on Saturday so as to give Southend the edge they may need in such a vital promotion game.
