Carlisle are the team travelling down from the north this weekend to visit Roots Hall.

The Cumbrians will make the long 340 mile road trip this saturday aiming to boost their chances of promotion whilst at the same time putting a dent in Southend’s. At present the Shrimpers sit just one place from top of the league and one place and one point above Carlisle.

The Cumbrian club which was formed three years before Southend in 1903 have certainly got an eye for goal as they have scored a total of 16 goals in the last 6 games. Southend will have to watch out for the striking force of Danny Graham and Joe Garner.

Southend themselves have also been having a good time of it with the unstoppable Leon Clarke scoring once again last Saturday to make it 7 goals since his arrival on loan from Sheffield Wednesday.

It is going to be a huge game and either club could be top of the league come 5:00pm on Saturday.
